You should begin by starting to enter your daily purchases in your online daily spending journal. It is very important for you to enter your complete entire daily spending and make sure to include every dollar you spend into your spending journal. It's very easy to enter your purchases everyday into your daily spending journal as it is always available for you on the internet. For some reason you should not have immediate access to a computer you should keep your receipts and or write down every purchase in a small note pad and make sure to keep foot notes about each purchase!
Remember you should be able to enter your spending daily, since your budget spending plan is easily accessible from anywhere in the world. There is absolutely no reason or excuse why you should not be able to enter these purchases and expenses. You can enter these from home, work, a friends house an internet café or from wherever you are.
There are also alternate sources where you are able to access a computer like the public library or from one of the computers generously donated for use at one of our sponsor's locations. All you will have to do is show your registration identification and the sponsor will provide you with a free fifteen minute session weekly that you will be able to enter your spending information weekly.
You should also review your spending journal weekly to make sure and see if your purchases are staying within your budget. It may be inconvenient at first for you to write down or enter your purchases in your online daily spending journal, but once you make it a habit it will come naturally to you and be apart of your everyday life. This will help you to become more discipline and get your spending under control.
You need to know where and how you spend your money. By tracking your spending you will be able to do so and better manage your spending. You can gather bills, receipts, invoices and make notes of any incidental purchases. You can also save all of your receipts and enter them by category at the end of each day or weekly. Don't assume any expenses are too little or small to record. You must go over every expense.
You can also review your past expenses by going through your check registers, credit card statements, invoices, receipts and bills. If you pay some expenses or bills annually, semi annually or quarterly (like insurance premiums, etc.) the payments must be divided into monthly payment amounts. The program will help figure out the monthly amounts and will help you total what you spent monthly in each category.
After calculating your monthly expenses for housing, groceries, insurance, utilities, etc., you should have funds left over in your bank account. If that's not the case you need to find out why you do not have excess cash or positive cash flow. The budget spending plan will help you see where your funds are going and help you get on track. You may find that you're spending a lot more than you thought on non-essentials.
The key is to a successful budget is spending in moderation to set reasonable and attainable goals and to make sure you abide by them. If you're exceeding your budget spending limits in some categories consistently, you will need to adjust your spending or cut back elsewhere so you don't fall behind.
Once you have achieved success and have excess cash and positive cash flow you can divide what is left among the items where you have more room to maneuver. You can use the surplus start a savings fund, pay off debts, save for a vacation or save for a major purchase. The best thing will be that you can go on a vacation, go to a concert or show and come back home knowing you don't owe any money on a credit card.
Your budget will probably not be perfect the first time. But you can make adjustments as you go until you have budget that works well for you. There are many ways to make a budget work. The key is to making a plan and finding a system that works for you and sticking to it. Make sure all your family is aware of the budget and is committed to following it.
